One thing I appreciate is someone who helps a stranger in need. Yesterday, I was the stranger in need.
I had just finished filling up my vehicle with gasoline. The price of a gallon of regular gas was $3.09 (a real bargain these days) and the station was crowded. I turned the key to start my vehicle and there was only the smallest of response before all the instruments stopped. Sure, I tried it a few more times, in case there was a chance it was just joking, but it wasn’t. The person behind me in line for the gasoline pump backed up and moved to another pump.
I hadn’t even had time to get out of my vehicle before a Nice Young Man parked his car nearby and came over with a portable battery jumper. (Jumper cables are so last century.) I popped the hood, he attached the cables, I turned the key in the ignition and my vehicle started. His effort took less than 3 minutes.
I thanked him then and I’m thanking him now. I also thank anyone who helps a stranger in need.
